About Disneyland Resort Food & Beverage

Disneyland Resort Food & Beverage is responsible for creating and delivering unique dining experiences across the Disneyland Resort. With over 165 distinct menus, each one is independently developed and changed, providing a wide variety of culinary offerings to guests.

The Menu Logistics and Planning Internship

This internship is a developmental opportunity to improve the menu development and production process within Disneyland Resort Food & Beverage. The intern will play a key role in transforming and enhancing the existing system by:

Conducting research and assessment: Analyzing the current menu development process from various perspectives, including the perspective of operators, the Commercial Business Transformation team, and impacted resort partners.
Documenting the process: Identifying gaps, challenges, and areas for improvement, while providing a comprehensive assessment of the current state.
Developing recommendations: Proposing actionable solutions and improvements with negotiated timelines for implementing these changes.
Data-driven approach: Implementing a data-driven approach to menu change decisions using analytics and menu engineering techniques.
Operator training: Developing training materials for operators to help them understand the pre-process for submitting menu requests and utilize data to identify gaps.
Collaboration and partnership: Working closely with internal team members who impact the menu development process.

The Food & Beverage Standards and Integration Team will focus on developing interns through dedicated mentorship, developmental tasks, and regular learning assessments. This role will prepare the intern to improve their knowledge of menu development for the Food & Beverage business, aligning with key business drivers while maintaining a strong connection to the Disney brand.

Key Responsibilities:

Commit to excellence: Interact with operations teams, the broader Food & Beverage team, pricing partners, and other key support partners to explore opportunities, develop processes, and resolve issues.
Develop skills in identifying key business drivers: Analyze and understand the key business drivers that impact menu intake and implementation processes.
Collaborate and partner: Work closely with other members of the Commercial Business Transformation team to improve the menu development process.
Participate in departmental meetings: Attend meetings, communicate relevant information to Cast Members, and support local projects.
Monitor potential impacts: Identify and monitor any potential impacts on the guest and cast experience.
Maintain documentation: Assist with maintaining documentation related to the menu development process.
Perform other duties as assigned: Contribute to the team by performing other tasks as needed.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMS, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

Food & Beverage experience: Prior experience in the Food & Beverage field is a plus.
Microsoft Suite proficiency: Knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, and Outlook.
Previous Disney experience: Previous experience as a Disney Cast Member is beneficial.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:

Enrollment or recent graduation: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter prior to the internship or must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at the time of application.
Age requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
Work authorization: Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
No prior year of continual employment: Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.

Additional Information:

Location: Primarily on-site position at the Disneyland Resort.
Internet access: Must be able to provide a working and reliable internet connection and a quiet, dedicated workspace.
Program dates: Approximate internship dates are January 2025 to June 2025.
Full-time commitment: Must be able to work full-time hours (approximately 40 per week) for the duration of the internship.
Consistent work schedule: Must be able to maintain a consistent and reliable work schedule throughout the internship.
Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
Housing: Must provide own housing for the duration of the internship program.
Pay rate: The pay rate for this internship in CA is $22.00 per hour.
