Job Title: Mental Health Therapist Internship

Hiring Period: Fall 2026

Location: Weymouth, MA

Pay: $15/hour

Internship Program Overview:
Sevita’s Internship Program is designed for graduate students pursuing a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Mental Health Counseling (MHC), or Marriage & Family Therapy (MFT). This program offers:

  • Hands-on Training: Gain practical experience in the behavioral health field.
  • Professional Mentorship: Receive guidance and support from experienced licensed clinicians.
  • Meaningful Opportunities: Directly support children, youth, adults, and families.
  • Real-World Clinical Experience: Practice in diverse settings, including both in-home and outpatient environments.
  • Supervision: Work under the direct supervision of licensed clinicians.
  • University Alignment: Program is structured to meet university internship requirements.
  • Career Preparation: Equips students for future careers in behavioral health.

Role Description – Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts psychosocial assessments under master’s level supervision, accurately transcribing or dictating relevant information for person-served records.
  • Provides individual, couple, family, and/or group therapies and crisis interventions, utilizing various treatment modalities.
  • Engages in mental health consultation and collaborates effectively with stakeholders and treatment team members.
  • Develops individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a master’s level clinician/supervisor.
  • Maintains current, adequate medical record documentation in the electronic medical record of the person being served.
  • Attends regular staff meetings, clinical meetings, training sessions, and one-on-one sessions with the direct supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related degree that will lead to licensure in counseling or marriage and family therapy.
  • Completion and proof of a Master’s level practicum.
  • Previous experience working with children/adolescents (in a clinical or mental health setting preferred).
  • Possession of a current driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
