Job Description:

Job Title: Paid Mental Health Therapist Intern – Cleveland

This role is for a Mental Health Therapist Intern who will be a part of the Ohio Mentor team, which is within the Sevita family. The position focuses on providing therapeutic services to youth and families.

Role Description (Key Responsibilities):

• Conduct person-centered assessments covering various areas including behavioral health, education, personality, community engagement, vocational needs, relationships, and family interactions.
• Develop comprehensive service or treatment plans based on the assessment of strengths and needs, in collaboration with referral agencies and the individual served.
• Deliver activity and participation-based interventions and approaches, drawing from training materials, professional experience, and the successes of individuals and/or families.
• Make necessary referrals to services and resources on behalf of the individuals and/or families receiving support.
• Ensure that all documentation and records are kept confidential, organized, accurate, and submitted to the supervisor in a timely manner.
• Actively participate in team meetings with peers and attend collateral team meetings when required.
• Develop and provide a detailed aftercare plan for each family and individual served.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with community partners from referring and collateral agencies, and guide families in their interactions with these agencies and other community organizations as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or any related degree that will lead to professional licensure in social work, counseling, or marriage and family therapy.
Completion and proof of a Master’s level practicum is preferred.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
