What You’ll Actually Do
• Psychotherapy: Provide in-office psychotherapy and counseling, engaging directly with clients under the supervision of experienced clinicians.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive case documentation, including detailed assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, to ensure continuity of care.
• Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with a dedicated clinical team, benefiting from direct mentorship and supervision from licensed therapists.
• Training: Participate actively in training and discussions, specifically aimed at developing culturally competent and empathetic care practices.
• Caseload Management: Manage your own client caseload within a supportive and structured environment, fostering your growth as a capable and compassionate mental health provider.
The Must-Haves
• Background: This entry-level position requires enrollment in a master’s degree program in Social Work or a counseling-related field, providing foundational knowledge for clinical practice.
• Experience: A commitment to an internship duration of two consecutive semesters or ideally a one-year commitment is required, with an expected availability of 10 to 24 hours per week during office hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM).
• Skills: Strong interpersonal skills are essential for forming impactful relationships, alongside being a collaborative team player and demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills for effective client and team interaction.
• Bonus: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is considered a plus, enhancing the ability to serve a broader, diverse client base.
