This is a contract role at Colorado Christian University, located in Lakewood, Colorado. This position is crucial for educating and mentoring future nurses in the Medical Surgical specialty, providing essential instruction, supervision, and evaluation in simulation and practice settings. Affiliate Faculty contribute to a Christ-centered community and help prepare students for leadership roles grounded in faith.

The TL;DR

• Type: Accelerated, evenings, weekends, 5/7/10-week durations

• Pay: $400–$1000 per credit hour
• Team: Coordinates and collaborates with lead course faculty
• Mission: Teach, supervise, and evaluate nursing students in Medical Surgical nursing to develop their clinical judgment and critical thinking.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruction: Teach, supervise, and evaluate nursing students during clinical and/or simulation experiences in Medical Surgical nursing.
• Coordination: Attend all course orientations and collaborate closely with lead course faculty.
• Assessment: Grade and submit student clinical and simulation performance documents in a timely manner as required for the course.
• Mentorship: Integrate biblical principles and concepts into student experiences, assisting them in self-evaluation and spiritual formation.
• Feedback: Provide constructive feedback to the standing nursing faculty regarding the course, clinical competencies, and student learning modalities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A minimum of an MSN degree in nursing from a Nursing Education Program with national nursing accreditation.
• Experience: Documented two years of experience in Medical Surgical nursing; strong pharmacology and general treatment knowledge and skills; ability to interpret patient information to assist students in decision-making.
• Skills: An active, unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado; strong written and oral communication skills, evidenced by teaching evaluations; knowledge and proficiency in APA 7th edition and academic writing; ability to engage with students in clinical situations and lead clinical conferences.
