What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Provide comprehensive administrative and litigation assistance to attorneys focused on medical malpractice matters.
• Documentation: Draft, revise, and proofread a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and legal correspondence.
• Case Management: Assist with all aspects of case management, coordinating court filings (state and federal), managing e-filing, tracking critical deadlines, and maintaining electronic and physical case files.
• Records Handling: Request, organize, summarize, and manage crucial medical records, billing records, and expert materials to support litigation efforts.
• Trial Preparation: Support attorneys with comprehensive trial preparation, including the creation of exhibit lists, trial notebooks, and subpoenas, along with logistics coordination.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An experienced legal professional prepared to support attorneys handling complex medical malpractice and healthcare-related litigation matters.
• Experience: Possess 3+ years of experience as a legal assistant or litigation assistant, with specific and required experience in medical malpractice. Demonstrated experience handling medical records, HIPAA authorizations, and creating medical chronologies is essential.
• Skills: Exhibit a working knowledge of Florida civil procedure, court rules, and litigation deadlines. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and demonstrate strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. The ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a deadline-driven environment is crucial, alongside excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: Experience with litigation and document management systems is preferred.
