Job Title: Medical Assistant/MA-C – SMG Hiring Pool

Job Overview:
This role is part of Swedish Medical Group’s (SMG) Hire Pool Program, which is a direct-to-hire recruitment initiative. It aims to place qualified candidates into permanent clinical support roles, specifically targeting individuals who align with SMG’s mission and values and are seeking long-term careers in healthcare.

Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift (Multiple shifts available for the Job Schedule)
Location: Puget Sound area in Washington (Specific Work Location: Swedish Bank Of America Bldg-Seattle, 800 Fifth Ave, Seattle, WA)

Position Expectations:
This program involves a structured assessment and training period:
Onboarding & Training: After onboarding, participants undergo a one-week New Caregiver Orientation program.
On-the-Job Training: This is followed by two weeks of on-the-job training at a local SMG clinic.
Clinic-Based Assessment: After completing the initial training, participants engage in a two-week clinic-based assessment. During this assessment, individuals function as permanent staff members, training on clinic-specific workflows under the supervision of clinic staff, and receiving real-time feedback and coaching.
Formal Transfer: At the conclusion of the assessment period, there is a potential for formal transfer into a permanent clinic role.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality patient care or administrative support, depending on the specific role.
• Learn and adapt effectively to clinic protocols and electronic health systems.
• Demonstrate consistent professionalism, teamwork, and alignment with SMG’s values.
• Communicate effectively and clearly with staff, patients, and administrators.

Specific Responsibilities as a Medical Assistant (MA-C):
As an MA-C, you will assist with both administrative and clinical tasks, including:
• Scheduling appointments.
• Updating patient information in EPIC (Electronic Health Records system).
• Taking patients’ vital signs during appointments.

Required Qualifications:
Education/Training:
• Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands-on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants, OR
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program, OR
• Completion of two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces, OR
• Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes specific clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
Certifications:
• Washington Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.
• National Provider BLS – American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
Experience:
• 6 months of Healthcare experience.
• 6 months of Medical Assistant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.
