Job Description (Detailed)

This posting is for a Medical Assistant position, a vital part of the care team that works closely with licensed practitioners to provide patient care. It is a combined posting, considering candidates for Associate Medical Assistant, Medical Assistant Registered, and Medical Assistant roles based on qualifications.

Role Overview & Responsibilities:
Medical Assistants perform a combination of administrative and clinical tasks.
Administrative Tasks: Maintaining patient records, preparing patients and rooms for examination.
Clinical Tasks: Assisting physicians with exams, taking vital signs (e.g., pulse, blood pressure), updating medications, allergies, and other information in patient’s medical records, performing certain medical procedures, specimen collection, and lab testing.
Required Skills: Clerical computer and phone skills, strong customer service/people skills, and knowledge of medical terminology.

Sign-on Bonus:
A $2,500 Sign-on Bonus is offered for eligible rehire and external candidates who meet all conditions for payment. This is in addition to the standard benefits and compensation.

Home Clinic & Location:
Open positions are available at various clinics in Spokane, Washington, including locations in Downtown, North, South, Liberty Lake, and Spokane Valley. These clinics specifically include General Pediatrics and Pediatric Specialties. Specific preferences will be discussed during the interview process. The primary work location mentioned is Liberty Lake, WA, and the position is on-site.

Candidate Levels and Requirements:

1. Associate Medical Assistant
Required Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited school with hands-on clinical training for medical assistants OR
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program OR
• Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces OR
• Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant, including obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
• Washington Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.
• National Provider BLS – American Heart Association certification within 30 days of hire.
• 0-6 months medical assisting experience in a clinic setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 6 months prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• 6 months previous experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Salary Range (NE Washington): Minimum: $17.06/hour, Maximum: $26.07/hour. Most candidates can expect a starting pay of $20.91/hour or higher depending on experience.

2. Medical Assistant Registered
Required Qualifications:
• Washington Medical Assistant Registration within 60 days of hire.
• National Provider BLS – American Heart Association certification within 30 days of hire.
• 6 months of healthcare experience.
• 6 months of Medical Assistant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Coursework/Training in Medical Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, Medical Secretary, or Health Unit Coordinator/Clerk.
Salary Range (NE Washington): Minimum: $17.06/hour, Maximum: $26.07/hour. Most candidates can expect a starting pay of $20.91/hour or higher depending on experience.

3. Medical Assistant
Required Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited school with hands-on clinical training for medical assistants OR
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program OR
• Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces OR
• Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant, including obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
• Washington Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.
• National Provider BLS – American Heart Association certification within 30 days of hire.
• 6 months Healthcare experience.
• 6 months Medical Assistant experience.
Salary Range (NE Washington): Minimum: $18.50/hour, Maximum: $28.27/hour. Most candidates can expect a starting pay of $22.19/hour or higher depending on experience.
