Job Title: Medical Affairs Strategy Intern

Reporting To: Executive Director, US Medical Affairs Strategy

Department: Global Medical Affairs Strategy (GMSA) – US Medical Affairs Strategy

About the Internship:

As a Karyopharm Medical Affairs Strategy Intern, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Global Medical Affairs Strategy (GMSA) – US Medical Affairs Strategy team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to positively impact patients’ lives by directly contributing to critical projects. You will gain invaluable experience by assisting in the creation of training and operational content, developing materials for team platforms and dashboards, building engaging PowerPoint and PDF presentations, and supporting various strategy initiatives related to training, performance analysis, and other strategic objectives within a dynamic biotech environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specialized Disease State Training: Engage in comprehensive training to develop a deep understanding of disease states pertinent to Endometrial Carcinoma, becoming a knowledgeable contributor to team discussions.
  • Platform & Dashboard Management: Work closely with management to regularly update and maintain critical team platforms and dashboards. This includes responsibilities such as:
    • Managing Key Opinion Leader (KOL) trackers.
    • Enhancing engagement strategies for clinical trial sites.
    • Updating medical information and insights to ensure data accuracy and relevance.
  • Presentation & Data Analysis Support: Develop and prepare high-quality PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets to effectively communicate key insights, facilitate team discussions, and support successful project execution.
  • KOL Mapping & Strategic Enhancement: Contribute to the strategic enhancement and expansion of the existing Key Opinion Leader (KOL) mapping list for endometrial cancer, focusing on improving its functionality, applicability, and strategic value.
  • Cross-Functional Project Participation: Actively participate in diverse and evolving projects, collaborating closely with members of both the strategy and program teams on assignments that offer dynamic learning and contribution opportunities.
  • Educational Material Development & Event Support:
    • Assist medical leads in the creation and refinement of external educational materials.
    • Contribute to the organization and seamless execution of advisory boards and industry-sponsored symposia.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Currently pursuing a degree in a relevant field such as Business, Marketing, Healthcare, or Biomedical Sciences, with a demonstrated interest in a career within the medical or biotechnology industry.
  • Technical Proficiency: A solid foundation and practical experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel is required. Candidates prepared to share examples of their work during the interview process will be highly regarded.
  • Geographic Flexibility: Ability to support leadership team members across various US time zones as needed.
  • Independent & Virtual Work Skills: Proven ability to effectively participate in virtual meetings and successfully complete projects with minimal supervision.

Candidate Profile & Requirements:

  • Internship Availability: Must be available to complete the entire Karyopharm Internship Program duration: May 26 – August 7, 2026.
  • Academic Status: Currently enrolled as a high school student or in a Bachelor’s degree program at an accredited college or university.
  • Post-Internship Enrollment: Must be returning to school for the Fall Term following the internship.
  • Academic Standing: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) is required.
  • Organizational & Collaborative Skills: Highly organized with the ability to excel both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Communication: Possess strong, clear, and concise verbal and written communication skills.

Internship Compensation & Culture:

  • Compensation: Competitive hourly compensation ranging from $22 to $30 per hour, commensurate with academic level (e.g., Bachelor’s, Master’s) and year in school.
