Job Description: Mechanical Engineering Intern (Summer 2025)
This internship offers highly motivated students the chance to contribute to the future of affordable, high-reliability space systems. The intern will join the Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) team, working alongside a lead engineer on several satellite programs.
Responsibilities:
• Support full-time engineers in MGSE design, focusing on practical solutions for assembly, integration, and testing challenges.
• Utilize Solidworks CAD Modeling & Drafting to create designs including: environmental testing plates, support stands, protective covers, and EGSE rack interface plates.
• Provide support for 3D printing requests.
• Demonstrate knowledge of applicable materials and specifications.
• Assist in floor operations with testing, integration, and hardware movement.
• Collaborate with teammates and other subsystems regarding schedules, risks, budgets, and challenges.
• Adhere to design and execution best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
• At least one year of schooling at an accredited university pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Active enrollment in an accredited post-secondary program with at least one semester or quarter remaining after the internship.
• Experience or coursework in computer-aided design and drafting (CAD).
• Demonstrated design, testing, and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Pay Range: $20.67/hr – $48.08/hr
Security Clearance: Applicants must be U.S. citizens eligible for a security clearance and willing to obtain and maintain one. Millennium is a DDTC-registered, ITAR-compliant company.
