Job description: Mechanical Engineering Intern

Overview:
The Mechanical Engineering Intern will join the Building Services Group at Carollo Engineers. The primary role is to assist with design and construction project work related to water and wastewater facilities.

Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to):
• Performing elementary engineering assignments, often working from the designs of other engineers.
Compiling data and conducting analysis.
• Performing elementary design computations.
• Preparing engineering plans.
• Assisting in the preparation of reports.
Contacting vendor(s) to obtain necessary equipment information.
• Performing quantity take-offs to assist in cost estimation.
• Participating in field activities and site visits.

The intern will work under close supervision and will receive specific and detailed instructions regarding required tasks and expected results.

Qualifications (Required):
High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a mechanical engineering field.
• Must be finishing or have completed the junior year of college.
• Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Microstation, Revit, Sketchup).

Preferred Qualifications:
• Has passed or is scheduled to take the FE/EIT exam.
