Mechanical/Architectural Engineering Co-op | CMTA, a Legence Company

The Tone:
This is a full-time, onsite Co-op position at CMTA, a Legence Company. CMTA specializes in sustainable, high-performance building engineering projects, offering consulting engineering, performance contracting, and zero energy solutions. This role offers an immersive, hands-on experience in mechanical/HVAC/Energy design within the consulting engineering world, allowing college students to build competitive industry skills and contribute to challenging MEP projects.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Full-time (40 hrs./week)
• Location: Onsite

• Mission: Design and implement mechanical systems/infrastructure and energy-efficient measures in building projects.
• Tech Stack: AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Produce: Detailed layout and equipment details of HVAC systems.
• Produce: One-line diagrams/schematics.
• Assist: The design team in assembling organized sets of drawings.
• Assist: In the data collection and/or field verification.
• Work: In conjunction with designers and engineers to help develop all aspects of a project.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, preferably a sophomore (2nd year) or junior (3rd year), with a strong interest in Building Systems Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: Ability to work well with a team and independently, coupled with the ability to work full-time throughout the co-op term.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to travel locally for job site inspections and field work.
• Bonus: AutoCAD and REVIT experience preferred.
