Description: MBO Stage Scheikunde/Laborant – Meetmethode voor stabiliteit van pigmenten in inktvloeistoffen

This is a challenging internship opportunity for an MBO student (at least second-year) studying chemistry, laboratory technology, or chemical-physical analysis. The focus is on improving existing measurement methods for pigment stability in ink fluids.

The Task:

Canon Production Printing has developed two methods for measuring pigment dispersion stability: one using Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) for particle size analysis and another using a rheometer for viscosity measurements. The intern will contribute to the further development and optimization of these methods, aiming for the most efficient and accurate measurement techniques. This includes:

• Actively participating in the improvement of existing measurement techniques.
• Searching for and proposing improvements to the existing methods.
• Conducting a small accuracy study.
• Independently planning, executing, and interpreting results (with supervision).
• Contributing to better ink delivery; successful results will be integrated into further ink engineering.

The intern will work within the R&D UVgel-ink group and gain practical experience in performing and improving chemical-physical measurements.

Candidate Profile:

• Currently an MBO student (at least second-year) in chemistry, laboratory technology, or chemical-physical analysis.
• Eager to contribute to the improvement of existing measurement techniques.
• Able to work effectively within a larger team, setting clear deadlines and expectations.
• Available for an internship of at least 4 months.

Benefits:

• A challenging assignment with expert supervision.
• A stage/graduation allowance of €500 per month.
• Reimbursement of travel expenses (if not using a public transport week pass).
• Networking opportunities with professionals both within and outside the field.
• A company culture emphasizing collaboration, innovation, and ownership.
