Job Description:

BASF’s Leadership Development Programs (LDPs) offer motivated university students the opportunity to enhance professional skills through diverse learning experiences. The MBA LDP internship is a precursor to a rotational program, combining hands-on technical and strategic experience with networking opportunities to accelerate career development at BASF.

Program Summary:

Opportunity: A 10- to 12-week summer internship at a BASF US location.
Focus: Apply education and background to challenging assignments to build general management skills.
Location: Requires mobility; US locations include New Jersey, Michigan, North Carolina, Texas, and Louisiana.
Projects: Complete various projects designed to enhance career development and deliver value to BASF. Examples include preparing operational plans, market research, break-even analysis, acquisitions, and divestitures. Previous projects have included divisional supplier development programs, go-to-market strategies, sustainability roadmaps, and commercialization analyses.
Networking: Engaging across the business to expand your network, grow personally and professionally, and learn valuable skill sets.
Presentation: Present your summer project to other interns, BASF employees, and senior leaders upon completion.
Full-Time Opportunity: Assessment throughout the summer for a full-time offer for the 2-year rotational program.

Ideal Candidate:

• 1st-year MBA student pursuing a career in General Management within the Manufacturing/Chemical industry.
• Graduation date between December 2026 – August 2027.
• Minimum of 3 years’ and maximum of 6 years’ work experience.
• Undergraduate Business or Technical Degree preferred.
• Commitment to relocate anywhere in the U.S. during and upon placement from the program.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions.
• Demonstrated leadership and academic achievement.
• Ability to work in a technical environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong project management experience.
• Previous experience in the manufacturing/chemical/industrial space is a plus.
