MBA Intern – Independent Sponsor / Private Equity Track | de Anda Capital

The Tone:
This is an internship at de Anda Capital, located remotely (NYC preferred), serving as the entry point into our training pipeline. We are a lean, principal-led independent sponsor focused on executing a buy-and-build strategy in the property management sector. This role offers direct exposure to live transactions from day one, preparing candidates to become acquisition leaders who buy and operate businesses, not advise on them. While this initial training phase is unpaid, high performers are brought onto the team in a paid capacity, gaining increasing ownership over deals and operating assets.

The TL;DR

• Mission: To develop acquisition leaders capable of managing teams, leading acquisitions, operating assets, and taking responsibility for investor capital.
• Tech Stack: AI-assisted research and diligence workflows, AI-enabled investment research.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Evaluate: Evaluate inbound and sourced acquisition opportunities.
• Analyze: Conduct market research, industry/sector analysis, and build financial models and valuation analyses.
• Execute: Support due diligence workstreams, draft investment memoranda, and support acquisition negotiations on live deals.
• Operate: Analyze portfolio company operations, identify areas for improvement, and develop growth strategies for acquired businesses.
• Innovate: Build and use AI-assisted research and diligence workflows directly with partners on active transactions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current MBA student, or an MBA completed within the past year, with 3+ years of full-time professional experience prior to the MBA.
• Experience: Prior experience in private equity, M&A/investment banking, venture capital, corporate development, or deal execution/transaction experience.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, strong written/verbal communication skills, and comfort operating in an unstructured, entrepreneurial environment with limited hand-holding.
• Bonus: A genuine interest in private equity, M&A, search funds, or independent sponsorship as an operator, not an advisor.
