About the Job

This is a full-time Faculty (10-month) position reporting to the Upper Division Head at Evansville Day School (EDS). The start date is July 2025, and the application deadline is until filled.

EDS is a student-centered, college preparatory school offering a challenging curriculum from Junior Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. It is the only independent school in the Southwest Indiana (tri-state) region, with approximately 300 students and 100% four-year college placement.

Job Summary:

The Mathematics Department fosters deep conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills through a rigorous, mastery-based curriculum. The courses taught will depend on the expertise of the selected candidate.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

• Teach 5 sections of 6th – 12th grade math courses (must be able to teach through Algebra II; ability to teach through Precalculus is preferred).
• Collaborate to design and implement an effective Mathematics scope and sequence.
• Employ research-based and innovative instructional and assessment methods.
• Create a warm, well-structured learning environment with consistent routines and high expectations.
• Provide timely individualized feedback to students.
• Communicate proactively with families.
• Serve as an advisor to students.
• Supervise students as assigned.
• Contribute to the life of Day School by coaching and/or leading student clubs and activities.
• Be a visible presence at school events.
• Actively participate in the Mathematics department.
• Actively participate in faculty meetings and professional development.
• Model a commitment to lifelong learning and growth.
• Uphold Day School’s Mission and core values.

Skills And Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree, preferred.
• Experience teaching, preferred. Indiana Teaching License is not required.
• Knowledgeable about the developmental needs of adolescent students.
• Knowledgeable about mathematics instructional practices.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire students.
