This is a contract role at Varsity Tutors, located nationally for remote work. The company builds a Live Learning Platform that leverages advanced technology and AI to create personalized 1-on-1 online tutoring experiences. This role is crucial for transforming how students learn by providing expert Math 3 instruction, directly impacting their academic success and deepening their understanding.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruction: Expertly explain complex Math 3 concepts, including polynomial division, unit circle values, margin of error, logarithmic equation solving, and trigonometric identity verification.
• Guidance: Guide students through mathematical modeling, analyzing rational function behavior, performing statistical inference with confidence intervals, and solving geometric design problems.
• Preparation: Prepare students for precalculus, AP courses, and college mathematics placement exams by emphasizing mathematical modeling and real-world applications in biology, physics, and financial analysis.
• Adaptation: Adapt instruction using graphing technology, data analysis projects, and cumulative review strategies to address common student challenges like graphing rational functions and applying the normal distribution.
• Tutoring: Provide personalized 1-on-1 online tutoring sessions or accept on-demand instant tutoring requests from students.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Deep knowledge of Math 3 subject matter, including polynomial and rational functions, logarithmic and exponential modeling, trigonometric functions and identities, statistics with normal distributions and inference, and geometric modeling with volume and cross-sections. This also includes familiarity with Integrated Math 3 curricula and Common Core standards.
• Experience: Proven capability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with and effectively explain material using multiple approaches. Experience guiding students through challenging topics and connecting advanced functions to real-world applications.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, a friendly and engaging teaching style, and the ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse individual learning needs and styles. Proficiency in breaking down complex problems and enhancing student engagement.
