About the Job: Marketplace Consultant (Strategic Account Services – Amazon Essentials Program)

As a Marketplace Consultant within the Strategic Account Services (SAS) Team of Retail Business Services, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing the strategy for managing Amazon Seller Partners. This position is part of the Amazon Essentials Program, which is dedicated to helping small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) succeed and grow on the Amazon platform.

Role Overview:
You will serve as a Strategic Business Consultant, providing expert advice and guidance to a dedicated portfolio of 15-20 small and medium enterprises. The program, established in 2021, is in its early stages, offering a unique opportunity to take ownership of various projects, contribute to its evolution, and develop specialized expertise in focused areas. You will also collaborate closely with Amazon colleagues based in Europe. The working hours for this role will align with the EU shift, specifically from 12:00 pm IST to 9:00 pm IST.

Key Responsibilities and Activities:

Portfolio Management & Growth: Manage a portfolio of 15-20 Sellers with the primary goal of driving sustainable revenue growth. This involves a deep understanding of Amazon’s marketplace programs, tools, and processes.
Strategic Consulting: Provide data-driven, collaborative, and customer-focused strategic advice across various critical areas, including:
Portfolio Optimization: Helping sellers optimize their product selection.
Product Presentation: Advising on enhancing product listings and content.
Advertising Strategy: Guiding sellers on effective advertising campaigns on Amazon.
Promotions: Developing strategies for promotions and deals.
Fulfillment Strategy: Optimizing supply chain and fulfillment methods.
Brand Building: Supporting sellers in establishing and growing their brands.
Data Analysis & Recommendations: Analyze customer data related to listing efficiency, selection, supply chain, advertising, and deals. Based on this analysis, you will provide strategic recommendations to maximize sellers’ potential. You will also use analytical skills to proactively identify untapped growth opportunities for each Selling Partner.
Performance Tracking & Metrics: Implement and track key metrics to record the success and quality of sellers in your portfolio. These metrics will guide your work and help uncover hidden areas of opportunity.
Seller Engagement & Relationship Building:
• Identify, qualify, and engage with prospective Sellers for the SAS program by understanding their specific needs.
• Build and execute joint business plans with sellers, ensuring alignment with their targets and delivering on key business opportunities and relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for both the sellers and Amazon.
• Conduct regular Weekly Business Reviews (WBRs) and Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) with sellers to highlight business metric performance and jointly build actionable plans.
Deep Dive Analysis & Problem Solving: Conduct in-depth analysis of seller issues, publishing recommendations and action plans based on data to continuously improve the seller experience.
Program Development & Projects: Manage additional projects related to the newly launched Paid Service. This includes contributing to process improvements, tool and content development, competitive analysis, and sales analysis, given the program’s early stage.
Ecosystem Understanding: Develop a thorough understanding of the entire Amazon Marketplace ecosystem to provide comprehensive support.

Success Measurement:
Your success will be measured by the performance of your sellers on input metrics and the overall impact you have on creating a great customer experience for buying consumers.

A Day in the Life:
As a Marketplace Consultant, you will primarily fill the gap for sellers by providing consultative services as Amazon experts. You will work with smaller, younger, and more innovative businesses, offering support across various aspects crucial for faster growth, such as supply chain, merchandising, selection, conversion, and analytics. Internally, you will collaborate with a dedicated team across Europe to continuously develop and refine the Essentials program while delivering its services.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience in sales or account management.
• Proven experience in analyzing data and best practices to assess performance drivers.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience analyzing key open issues and resolution metrics for managed accounts.
• Experience in relationship management, particularly within technology, start-ups, or SaaS platforms.
• Demonstrated high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
