Marketing Intern | Fast Forward
The Tone:
This is a remote Marketing internship at Fast Forward, open to candidates in San Diego County, with mandatory on-site event support for a specific week in November 2026. Fast Forward specializes in creating joyful experiences through culinary, beverage, lifestyle, and tourism-based events. They are known for producing nationally recognized events like the San Diego Food + Wine Festival, DC Food + Wine Festival, and SommCon Conference & Beverage Expo. This role is crucial for gaining practical, hands-on experience across various marketing disciplines, including both creative strategies and the operational systems necessary to execute campaigns and events effectively, preparing the intern for a future in event and experiential marketing.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support marketing campaigns: Assist with lead generation, prospecting, and audience development by supporting attendee acquisition, exhibitor marketing, sponsor marketing, and overall promotional campaigns through research, list building, and outreach.
• Execute marketing automation: Help create, execute, monitor, and report on automated marketing campaigns, including CRM management and nurture campaign execution, designed to engage prospective attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, and partners effectively.
• Manage partner programs: Support sponsor, exhibitor, and partner marketing programs by coordinating stakeholder communication, managing asset collection, ensuring fulfillment of marketing deliverables, executing campaigns, and assisting with performance reporting.
• Develop content and collateral: Create and update email marketing campaigns, CRM communications, website content, social media posts, and various promotional materials, including marketing and sales graphics using Canva, alongside public relations efforts like media list building and press release distribution.
• Provide on-site event support: Deliver essential on-site assistance at Fast Forward events, encompassing attendee engagement, registration support, content capture, sponsor fulfillment, and other event operations, thereby gaining exposure to event marketing and execution.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Hospitality, Business, or a related field.
• Experience: Demonstrated writing, proofreading, and editing abilities, along with experience using Canva or similar design software.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication; exceptional organization, time management, and attention to detail; comfort with new technology platforms, marketing tools, and AI-powered tools.
• Bonus: A creative problem-solver who enjoys team collaboration and seeks hands-on experience in event and experiential marketing.
