Schedule: 12 – 14 week internship on a 9/80 (flexible work schedule where employees work 9 days over a two-week period with one day off)

Job Summary:

This full-time, paid Summer Internship Program offers an exciting opportunity for students to collaborate with and learn from experienced professionals within the Electro-Optical & Infrared Systems line of business. Interns will gain hands-on experience in a friendly, team-oriented culture. Unlike roles confined to single tasks, DRS engineers enjoy dynamic work environments, and as an intern, you will have the chance to engage in projects from conception to completion, with ample opportunities for exploration and professional growth.

This internship is designed for individuals eager to discover what makes DRS unique and take a significant step forward in their career journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Digital Asset Management: Systematically organize and categorize publicly released assets by attaching relevant metadata to each item.
  • Social Media & News Management: Proactively develop and schedule social media posts and news content, especially in preparation for tradeshows, to ensure all materials are approved and ready for dissemination well in advance.
  • Post-production Editing & Content Creation: Utilize existing digital assets to produce new marketing materials across various platforms. This includes supporting program requests by building out website content and potentially creating digital assets for diverse marketplace applications.
  • Tradeshow Management (Where Applicable): Assist with the logistical planning and execution of tradeshows, including coordinating build-outs, fulfilling show requirements and services, and providing on-site team support. Travel may be required for this responsibility.

Qualifications:

  • Must be actively enrolled in a 4-year undergraduate degree program in Business or Management.
  • Have successfully completed at least 2 years of college and be at least a Junior or Senior at the time of application.
  • Possess a minimum GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exhibit excellent organizational abilities.
  • Possess a natural curiosity and aptitude for solving complex problems.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative member of a team.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
