Job Summary

We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Marketing Intern to join our team for Summer 2026. The Hillman Marketing team oversees a portfolio of product-focused brands ranging from hardware to protective work gear products, each with its own social media presence, website, eComm presence, and strategic goals.

As a Marketing Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, data management, eCommerce, and various marketing projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with a broad marketing team and gain experience in a multitude of marketing touchpoints.

Essential Job Functions

  • Read consumer reviews and document reoccurring negative reviews; identify potential actions to resolve, focusing on consumer feedback analysis and problem identification.
  • Do monthly reporting on customer feedback trends for the business to action upon.
  • Support the B2B team (shop.hillmangroup.com) with user interface testing where applicable.
  • Manage and create engaging content for social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok, driving social media management and content creation.
  • Assist in developing and implementing social media strategies to increase brand awareness, engagement, and followers.
  • Monitor social media channels for trends, conversations, and opportunities to engage with our audience through social listening and audience engagement.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm and develop creative ideas for marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Assist in the creation of various marketing materials such as blog posts, newsletters, emails, and website content.
  • Conduct market research on industry trends, competitors, and target audience demographics to inform marketing and eCommerce strategies.
  • Support the marketing team with various administrative tasks and projects as needed.
  • Assist the Content team with audits/reviews of product detail pages on different retailer sites.
  • Learn content requirements across multiple retailer sites to ensure Hillman’s product information meets retailer compliance.
  • Utilize internal PIM system (Salsify) to gather product information or reach out to Product/Brand Managers to fill in gaps in product data, emphasizing data gathering and management.
  • Coordinate with the Design team for digital asset management and keywording support.

Education & Experience

  • Currently enrolled in a University program in Marketing, Mass Communications, or a related field.
  • Previous internship or work experience in a related field is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar software.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and creativity.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information encountered.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Work Environment

Office setting. Seldom exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May be exposed to the loud working environment of the shop area. Functional vision and hearing required.
