Chartwells Higher Education is hiring immediately for a Marketing Intern position at their location at 1120 South 5th Waco, TX. Applications are accepted online only. The schedule is to be determined based on class schedule and business needs and the pay range is $15.00 per hour.

The Marketing Intern will work closely with the Marketing Manager to implement and promote the dining program at Baylor University. This involves research to understand the needs of the target market, planning and brainstorming, promotions and advertising through various platforms, and implementation. This is not a typical internship; interns will be spearheading various projects and will be able to request assignments to expand their knowledge base. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone interested in the field of marketing.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, customer service experience/knowledge, knowledge of social media platforms, good to better interpersonal skills, general interest and knowledge, knowledge of graphic design tools is a plus, and prior marketing related experience is a plus.

Job responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): assisting with planning, organizing and hosting events; assisting with Dine on Campus; assisting in social media calendar development and promotions; acting as a brand representative; conducting marketing audits; conducting general administrative tasks; completing Marketing Boot Camp; surveying students to collect marketing research; creating marketing materials to numerous specifications; managing signage in multiple locations; assisting with the creation of concepts, campaigns, and imagery to effectively communicate messages to the target market; managing website and social networking profile content; and attending meetings or other events as required.

The internship offers the following learning objectives: demonstrating awareness, understanding and skills necessary to work in a diverse environment; learning how to create and implement a marketing plan; learning how to conduct market research and use it to generate a larger audience or increase buy-in; and learning how to use multiple platforms and strategies to effectively promote a brand.
