Job Description (Detailed)

This document outlines the role of a Marketing Intern at Porsche.

1. Position Objective:
The Marketing Intern will play a supportive role to both the Communities Manager and the Motorsports and Sports Marketing Manager. The core objective is to assist with the coordination and execution of Porsche’s community, motorsports, golf, and sponsorship initiatives. This internship is structured to offer exposure to the planning and execution of experiential marketing programs and events. It aims to develop practical skills in various areas, including marketing operations, event support, and brand strategy. The intern will gain hands-on experience working with internal departments, external vendors, and partners, while also providing assistance with administrative duties, logistics coordination, and event tracking across diverse Porsche programs.

2. Primary Responsibilities:

Event Planning & Coordination: Assist actively in the planning and coordination of community, motorsports, and sponsorship events.
Logistics Support: Provide support for event logistics, which includes vehicle tracking, scheduling arrangements, and coordination with various vendors.
Marketing Material Preparation: Help in preparing essential marketing materials, supplies, and managing event shipments.
Team Collaboration & Documentation: Participate in cross-functional team meetings and assist in documenting action items derived from these discussions.
Budgeting & Finance: Support budgeting and finance-related tasks, such as processing invoices and tracking expenses.
Event Recaps & Reporting: Contribute to the creation of event recaps and reports by gathering relevant data, photos, and feedback from attendees.
Presentation & Sponsorship Development: Aid in developing presentation materials and comprehensive sponsorship overviews.
On-site Event Execution: Provide necessary support during the execution of events, which may include on-site logistics management and hospitality duties.
General Administrative Tasks: Perform various general administrative duties, such as scheduling appointments, routing documents, and conducting research.
Brand Consistency: Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure that all events and initiatives consistently align with Porsche’s brand standards.
Physical & Availability Requirements: The role requires the ability to lift up to 15 lbs and availability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

3. Qualifications:

Education: Candidates must be a current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business, or a related field/experience.
Experience (Job and Industry):
• Previous internship or academic project experience in marketing, events, or motorsports is considered a plus.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating cross-departmentally, and with ideating, managing, planning, and executing large-scale projects.
• Possession of an understanding and working knowledge of motorsports.
• An understanding of both traditional and non-traditional brand marketing strategies.
• A proven track record of thoughtful execution of innovative ideas.
• Experience in managing third-party vendors and handling on-site logistics.

4. Pay Range:
The pay for this position is $18 – $20 per hour, with the exact rate dependent on the candidate’s education status.
