Job Description: Marketing Intern – Chartwells K12
Job Title: Marketing Intern
Location: 1000 Fairview Ave, Crawfordsville, IN (Note: Online applications accepted only)
Schedule: To be determined based on the intern’s class schedule and business needs.
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour.
About the Role:
The Marketing Intern will work collaboratively with on-site operations, culinary, and nutrition team members to implement student experience programs within the school cafeteria setting. This role involves enhancing the cafeteria environment through décor, signage, and merchandising, as well as developing student engagement, nutrition education programs, hospitality initiatives, and promotions. The intern will also partner with the school district’s communication team to effectively engage and inform key stakeholders including clients, school staff, parents, and students. Essential for this position are excellent communication skills, strong strategic thinking, and a service-oriented approach.
Key Responsibilities:
• Program Execution: Execute marketing programs in collaboration with operators and regional support teams to ensure continuous engagement from students, clients, and communities.
• Operator Support & Training: Train and support operators in the implementation of student-facing and front-of-house programs, systems, and processes.
• Material Customization & Coordination: Customize various marketing materials such as social media posts, flyers, brochures, and client presentations, and coordinate their execution with district communications teams.
• Market Research: Conduct focus groups to understand the preferences of students and parents regarding the school meal program and identify areas for improvement.
• Operational Assessment & Improvement: Assess front-of-house operations to evaluate the student experience, adherence to operating standards, and the presence of signature programs. Work with operators to monitor results and drive continuous improvement.
• Data Collection & Reporting: Collect relevant data and report on the return on investment (ROI) and key performance metrics of marketing initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Currently a 2nd or 3rd-year marketing student.
• Prior marketing experience is preferred.
• Ability to present effectively to large groups.
• Knowledge of merchandising and promotions principles.
• Excellent writing skills.
Compensation & Benefits:
This is a paid position at $18.00 per hour. However, it is not eligible for additional benefits such as medical coverage, relocation assistance, or housing.
