Job Description: Marketing Intern
Location: 4700 Calhoun Road Suite 102 Houston, TX

Pay Range: $12.50 per hour.
General Description:
As a Marketing Intern, you will work closely with the Marketing Manager to implement and promote the dining program at the University of Houston. This role involves a variety of tasks, including:
• Market Research: Conducting research to understand the needs of the target market.
• Planning & Brainstorming: Participating in planning and brainstorming sessions for marketing campaigns and events.
• Promotions & Advertising: Developing and implementing promotions and advertising campaigns across various platforms.
• Project Management: Spearheading various projects and requesting assignments to expand your knowledge base.
This is not your average internship. You will be given the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and learn valuable skills in the field of marketing.
Requirements:
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Customer service experience/knowledge
• Knowledge of social media platforms
• Strong interpersonal skills
• General interest and knowledge of marketing
• Knowledge of graphic design tools (a plus)
• Prior marketing related experience (a plus)
Responsibilities (May include any or all):
• Assist with planning, organizing, and hosting events
• Assist with the “Dine on Campus” program
• Assist in developing and promoting social media calendars
• Act as a brand representative
• Conduct marketing audits
• Complete general administrative tasks
• Complete Marketing Boot Camp
• Survey students to collect marketing research
• Create marketing materials to numerous specifications
• Manage signage in multiple locations
• Assist with creating concepts, campaigns, and imagery to effectively communicate messages to the target market
• Manage website and social networking profile content
• Attend meetings or other events as required
Learning Objectives:
• Develop awareness, understanding, and skills necessary to work in a diverse environment
• Learn how to create and implement a marketing plan
• Learn how to conduct market research and use it to generate a larger audience or increase buy-in
• Learn how to use multiple platforms and strategies to effectively promote a brand
