This is an immediate hiring opportunity for a Marketing Intern position at Boise State University, specifically to support and promote the dining program.

Location: The role is based at 1910 W University Dr, Boise, ID. Online applications are accepted exclusively.
Pay Rate: The position offers a pay rate of $15.00 per hour.
Schedule: The schedule will be determined based on the intern’s class schedule and business needs. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until all openings are filled.
Employment Type & Benefits: This is a paid internship, however, it is not eligible for benefits such as medical, relocation, or housing. Due to the nature of working in an educational facility, there may be unpaid temporary layoffs during university breaks (like winter and summer) when food service needs decline. However, based on business needs, interns may be required to work year-round, potentially at a different location during these break periods.
General Description: The Marketing Intern will work closely with the Marketing Manager to implement and promote the dining program at Boise State University. This role is described as “not your average internship,” as it involves spearheading various projects and allowing interns to request assignments to expand their knowledge. Key activities include research to understand target market needs, planning & brainstorming, promotions & advertising across various platforms, and implementation. It offers a valuable opportunity for anyone interested in the field of marketing.
Requirements:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Customer service experience/knowledge.
Knowledge of social media platforms.
Good to better interpersonal skills.
• General interest and knowledge.
Plus points: Knowledge of graphic design tools, prior marketing-related experience, and event planning/execution.
Job Responsibilities (May include any or all):
• Assisting with the planning, organizing, and hosting of events.
• Assisting with “Dine on Campus” initiatives.
• Contributing to social media calendar development and promotions.
• Acting as a brand representative.
• Conducting marketing audits.
• Performing general administrative tasks.
• Completing a “Marketing Boot Camp.”
Surveying students to collect marketing research.
Creating marketing materials to various specifications.
Managing signage in multiple locations.
• Assisting with the creation of concepts, campaigns, and imagery for effective communication to the target market.
Managing website and social networking profile content.
• Attending meetings or other events as required.
Learning Objectives: Through this internship, the intern will aim to:
Demonstrate awareness, understanding, and skills necessary to work in a diverse environment.
Learn how to create and implement a marketing plan.
Learn how to conduct market research and use it to generate a larger audience or increase buy-in.
Learn how to use multiple platforms and strategies to effectively promote a brand.
