Job Description: Marketing Intern
The Birmingham Barons are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Marketing Intern to support their marketing department. This is a full-time, seasonal, non-exempt hourly position paying $7.25/hour. The intern will report to the Marketing Director and work within the Marketing Department.
Responsibilities: This fast-paced role offers diverse project involvement, including:
• Digital & Print Design: Collaborating with the Marketing Director to create promotional flyers, social media graphics, banners, and event signage. Basic knowledge of graphic design software (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
• Digital Marketing: Assisting with paid social advertising (Facebook, Instagram), email marketing campaigns, and data analysis to track campaign effectiveness and boost ticket sales and event promotion.
• Social Media Management: Creating engaging content for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok; managing game-day and non-game-day social media posting and scheduling; retouching and editing photos.
• Website Management: Maintaining and updating the Barons’ official website to ensure engaging and current content.
• Game Day Activities: Assisting with tarp pulls, setting up and breaking down promotional materials and fan experiences, managing giveaways, interacting with fans, and maintaining an upbeat atmosphere.
• Other Duties: Contributing unique ideas, performing mascot duties at external events (when needed).
Qualifications:
• Essential Skills: Passion for learning, strong work ethic, adaptability, strong communication and problem-solving skills, ability to maintain a professional appearance, electronic and computer proficiency, high attention to detail.
• Availability: Must work a full 40-hour week, including evenings, weekends, and most game days.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 25-50 lbs, stand for 5+ hours, work long hours, weekends, and holidays, and work in various weather conditions (rain, heat).
• Preferred Skills: Basic knowledge of graphic design software (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
