Description: Marketing Intern
Team: Member Marketing
Reporting to: Senior Marketing Manager of the Member Health Marketing Team
Location: Hybrid – Preferably within a 50-mile radius of a BSC office, with in-office collaboration 2 times per month.
Responsibilities:
• Contribute to strategic member engagement: The intern will support the development and implementation of integrated omnichannel member engagement strategies that drive healthy behaviors and improve health outcomes.
• Understand the healthcare landscape: Develop an understanding of key strategic partners in health systems organizations, their critical success factors, and how to drive them towards business objectives.
• Apply marketing principles: Demonstrate the ability to apply marketing principles strategically and tactically in the heavily regulated health insurance market.
• Data analysis and project support: Analyze key data to understand the business landscape and targeted health systems. Provide critical marketing and project management support to the team, including:
• Serving as the point of contact on projects
• Managing project plans and dashboards
• Tracking and reporting budgets
• Developing content and providing tactical support
• Assisting with documenting operating model processes
• Acting as a liaison to gather information for the team
• Examples of previous intern projects:
• Creating internal resources and tools to support marketing strategy and improve member experience
• Conducting research on current marketing tools compared to market and industry trends
• Evaluating campaign performance and data to inform campaign strategies
Currently pursuings:
• Education: Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in business, marketing, finance, healthcare, or a related field. Graduate degree is preferred.
• Knowledge: Preferred knowledge of the healthcare ecosystem, health plan and payer economics.
• Experience: Consulting and/or managerial experience is preferred. 2-4 years of project management experience working with cross-functional teams (paid roles, internships, volunteer experience, etc.) is preferred.
Pay Range: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour for California, based on experience, location, and current employee salaries for similar roles.

Workplace Model: Blue Shield offers a hybrid work model, allowing employees to choose between working in an office or remotely. The default is a hybrid model, with a few in-office days per week. Essential roles may require full-time work in an office.
