The Opportunity: Marketing Intern

RIOS is seeking a Marketing Intern to provide essential support to our Marketing and Communications team. This role is crucial for organizing and developing content for our extensive global portfolio. The intern will play a key role in the collection, organization, and updating of project assets for the RIOS website, while simultaneously gaining invaluable exposure to marketing processes and fostering cross-studio collaboration across our six global offices.

What You’ll Learn

The Marketing Intern will gain hands-on experience and develop skills in several key areas:

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Lightroom).
  • Experience with website content management systems.
  • Understanding of digital asset management and image optimization techniques.
  • Practical skills in copywriting and editing project descriptions.
  • Exposure to collaborative workflows within a multidisciplinary design team.

Key Responsibilities

The Marketing Intern will be responsible for a diverse set of tasks that directly contribute to RIOS’ marketing efforts:

  • Help collect, organize, and maintain project assets (renderings, photography, narratives) across RIOS’ global portfolio.
  • Assist with gathering visual and written content from studio teams for the RIOS website and various marketing materials.
  • Support writing and editing project descriptions that clearly communicate design concepts and outcomes, ensuring consistency in brand voice and visual presentation.
  • Support content organization, image optimization, and uploading for web and other digital platforms.
  • Maintain organized asset libraries and assist with content management systems.
  • Support the preparation of materials for design award submissions and presentations.
  • Collaborate with designers and marketing team members to help translate complex design work for digital and branded use.
  • Conduct research on current industry trends and analyze competitor activities to provide actionable insights that support marketing strategies.
  • Assist with ongoing marketing campaigns and various day-to-day marketing tasks.

Internship Details

  • This is a full-time paid internship program.
  • Duration: June 1, 2026, through August 7, 2026. Applicants must be available for the entire duration.
  • Compensation: $23 per hour.

Required Qualifications

Candidates for the Marketing Intern position should possess the following:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • A genuine interest in learning about design processes and visual storytelling.
  • A strong interest in architecture, design, and the built environment, coupled with an understanding of design principles and aesthetic sensibility.
  • A high degree of self-motivation and curiosity, demonstrating the ability to take initiative and go above and beyond assigned tasks.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across various teams and disciplines.
  • Highly organized with a proven ability to multi-task and manage priorities effectively.
