Marketing Coordinator – Lake Charles Event Center

Employment Type: 3-Month Contract Position

Location: Lake Charles Event Center, a Legends Global Managed facility

Summary

The Lake Charles Event Center is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Marketing Coordinator for a 3-month contract. This role is crucial for promoting the Event Center and all events hosted at the facility. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of marketing activities, including administrative support, social media management, and email marketing, with a focus on increasing event visibility and ticket sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the announcement, presale, and on-sale schedules for confirmed events, including localizing and resizing artwork, and scheduling content for social media and email blasts.
  • Assists in the creation and distribution of the monthly e-Newsletter.
  • Attends events to capture engaging social media content and escorts approved media representatives as needed.
  • Contributes to the creation of comprehensive post-event marketing reports.
  • Helps implement and maintain outreach strategies with major community organizations to expand and enrich marketing databases.
  • Curates unique and captivating content for the monthly social media calendar across various platforms.
  • Assists in developing and executing grassroots marketing initiatives to boost ticket sales for events across all venues.
  • Supports the generation of email reports using Ticketmaster Engage.
  • Aids in tracking traffic for all marketing campaigns and online assets through Ticketmaster One.
  • Assists with monitoring television and radio media coverage related to the facilities and compiles weekly reports.
  • Supports general marketing planning and reporting efforts.
  • Performs various administrative duties, including creating purchase requests, scheduling meetings, and organizing digital files.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, individuals must demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrates a strong attention to detail.
  • Exhibits excellent organizational skills.
  • Capable of multi-tasking effectively and with ease.
  • Available to work some nights and/or weekends as required by event schedules.
  • Ability to physically move around the facility as needed.

Education And/or Experience

  • College degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, or Public Relations is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and other Adobe creative software programs is a plus.
  • Experience with Canva and any video creation and editing software is also a plus.
  • Well-versed and experienced in managing content across major social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X.
  • Proven copy-writing experience.

Working Conditions

The position requires flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to standard business hours. Physical requirements include the ability to feel and reach with hands and arms, walk, stoop, lift up to 50 lbs., and stand for extended periods of time.
