Job Title: Marketing & Communications Intern
Job Type: Unpaid / College Credit
Location: Hybrid or In-Person Preferred
Reports To: Director of Digital Marketing (Remote)
Description: This role supports the Chippewa Steel’s brand messaging, game-day promotions, sponsor activations, and community outreach. It combines event support with written communications to help define the public voice of the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Drafting and distributing press releases and event summaries.
• Supporting fan promotions and sponsor activations during game nights.
• Assisting with the planning of theme nights and team appearances.
• Helping to coordinate community engagement and outreach efforts.
• Capturing content during events, particularly if the intern is on-site.
Supervision & Approval:
• All communication and marketing materials produced by the intern require explicit approval before release.
• The role involves weekly virtual check-ins and collaboration using shared tools, indicating a structured remote guidance system.
Preferred Skills:
• Demonstrated strong writing abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• A keen interest in public relations, sports marketing, or event coordination.
• The ability to work independently while receiving remote guidance.
