Job Description:

DDN is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support the development and production of high-performance storage systems. This is an onsite internship located in Chatsworth, CA, offering hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The intern will work alongside experienced engineers on real-world projects, assisting in improving manufacturing processes, supporting new product introductions (NPI), and helping maintain the highest standards of product quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in documenting and updating manufacturing processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
• Support the development of tools, fixtures, and methods to streamline product assembly and improve quality.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing techniques.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze production issues and recommend solutions.
• Help perform basic failure analysis and assist in implementing corrective actions.
• Review engineering drawings and specifications under guidance to support production.
• Contribute to packaging design evaluations to improve product safety during shipping.
• Participate in training activities and knowledge transfer sessions with production teams.
• Support the preparation and management of engineering change orders (ECOs).

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong interest in manufacturing, product development, and hands-on engineering.
• Basic knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a production environment when needed.
