Manager Trainee | Hertz

The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person development role at Hertz, a global leader in vehicle rentals operating across approximately 9,700 locations worldwide. Hertz Local Edition (HLE) focuses on providing flexible, local rental solutions to a diverse customer base outside of airport hubs. This role is vital for supporting location performance and developing future leaders. As a Manager Trainee, you will gain comprehensive business understanding, preparing you for promotion to Branch Manager in a structured timeframe.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Sales & Customer Service: Support the achievement of location sales goals, deliver excellent customer experience to contribute to high customer service scores, and learn and apply sales techniques and CRM best practices.
• Operations & Fleet Management: Gain hands-on experience in fleet logistics and inventory control, and assist with store operations and compliance.
• Vehicle and Facility Care: Support the team with miscellaneous tasks including cleaning and preparing vehicles for customers, lot management, and customer service assistance.
• Finance & Administration: Learn finance processes, support deal completion, and understand reporting, documentation, and business metrics.
• Leadership Development: Shadow and support management in daily operations, build skills in team leadership, scheduling, and performance coaching, and prepare for future leadership roles through structured training, understanding the role’s impact on the company’s financial wellbeing.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must be 20 years of age or older.
• Experience: Prior experience working in a professional environment.
• Skills: Valid driver’s license, strong computer and multitasking skills, excellent written and verbal communication, self-motivation, adaptability, eagerness to grow, exceptional time management skills, flexible scheduling (including nights, weekends, and holidays), ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and presentable attire.
