Manager, Supply Chain Strategy & Analytics | CarMax

The Supply Chain Strategy team serves as thought leaders, providing strategic direction and data-driven insights that guide decision-making across supply chain operations.

• Team: Supply Chain Strategy team, collaborating with Product, Technology, and Operations partners.
• Mission: Optimize the complex journey of vehicles from acquisition through reconditioning and logistics, ensuring an optimal mix of cars, efficient reconditioning, and effective movement to support retail sales growth.
• Tech Stack: SQL, PowerBI, Tableau
What You’ll Actually Do
• Drive Strategic Direction: Serve as a strategic thought partner for product or field operations teams, helping define strategic direction and driving execution through KPI identification and target setting.
• Ensure Analytic Excellence: Conduct large-scale data analysis, set up and interpret product tests, and create and maintain reports and dashboards to monitor key performance indicators.
• Consult on Change Initiatives: Support the implementation of change initiatives by consulting on key strategic problems and analytical work tracks.
• Communicate Insights: Present data-backed insights and recommendations to product executives and key business partners to achieve buy-in and consensus for strategic decisions.
• Problem Solve: Apply business and technical knowledge to solve complex supply chain problems and deliver impactful results.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Four-year undergraduate degree with strong academic performance; four or more years of experience in an analytical or strategic role.
• Experience: Four or more years in an analytical or strategic role; experience conducting large-scale data analysis to support conclusions.
• Skills: Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, quantitative and qualitative analysis; ability to communicate complex topics to people with varying backgrounds and levels of technical familiarity; willingness to gain proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, PowerBI, or Tableau.
• Bonus: Willingness and enthusiasm to collaborate with a team of passionate analysts and business partners who are regularly shaping strategy.
