The Tone:
This is a full-time swing shift role at Recology, located in Santa Rosa, CA, with hours from 3:00pm – 11:30pm, Monday through Friday. Recology is an ecologically innovative, employee-owned resource recovery company committed to protecting the environment and sustaining communities. This position performs essential maintenance and repair duties for vehicles and equipment, directly contributing to the company’s mission of using and returning resources to their best and highest use. The role ensures operational efficiency and safety across the fleet and container assets.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: Swing Shift, Monday- Friday, 3:00pm – 11:30pm
• Location: In-person, Santa Rosa, CA

• Mission: This person maintains and repairs critical equipment and containers, ensuring operational readiness for resource recovery efforts.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Maintenance: Perform assigned preventative maintenance and lubrication for vehicles and equipment.
• Inspections: Service and conduct safety and maintenance inspections on refuse trucks and other equipment.
• Container Care: Clean and repair garbage and recycle containers as needed.
• Documentation: Write repair orders accurately based on driver’s Vehicle Condition Reports (VCRs).
• Logistics: Pick up necessary parts from various vendors when required.
• Workplace Safety: Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Company policy and OSHA safety procedures.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or GED preferred, coupled with a basic understanding of heavy equipment terminology.
• Experience: Six months of related shop experience is required.
• Skills: Ability to perform preventative maintenance, conduct safety inspections, clean and repair containers, and accurately write repair orders.
• Bonus: A valid driver’s or commercial driver’s license is preferred.
