Maintenance Helper | Marriott International

• Team: Reports to a Supervisor within the Engineering & Facilities department at Courtyard.
• Mission: Ensure the hotel property remains fully functional and impeccably presentable by performing essential minor repairs and preventative maintenance tasks.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Plumbing & Fixture Repair: Troubleshoot and resolve minor plumbing issues such as unclogging drains, plunging toilets, and repairing leaky spigots and faucets to ensure guest comfort and facility functionality.
• General Property Maintenance: Execute a variety of minor repairs across the property, including tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and patching holes in walls, contributing to the overall upkeep and appearance.
• Preventative Equipment Care: Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, specifically cleaning and lubricating tools and equipment, to extend their lifespan and ensure reliable operation.
• Safety & Operational Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries, and completing all required safety training and certifications.
• Service Excellence & Support: Uphold Marriott’s standards for guest interaction, anticipating needs and assisting guests with disabilities, while also maintaining a professional appearance, protecting company assets, and collaborating effectively with supervisors and team members.

• Experience: No specific work experience or supervisory experience is required for this role, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals starting their careers.
• Skills:
• Foundational repair abilities, including the capability to fix minor plumbing issues (e.g., unclogging drains, repairing leaky faucets) and perform general maintenance tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs, patching walls).
• Physical capability to perform job duties such as reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, stooping, and the ability to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently, with assistance for items exceeding 100 pounds.
• Adherence to company safety and security policies, with the ability to report maintenance problems and hazards, and visually inspect tools or equipment.
• Professional communication skills for interacting with guests and colleagues, ensuring confidentiality and quality standards.
• Bonus: A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
