Maintenance Staff Member

Location: Lake Park, FL 33403

Pay Range: $22 – $25/hr

Schedule: Wednesday to Sunday 8:30am – 5pm (Mon & Tues OFF)

Job Overview

As a Maintenance Staff Member, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal functioning of our facilities.
Your responsibilities will encompass maintaining all mechanical systems and equipment in operational condition,
as well as guaranteeing that all common areas are consistently clean, aesthetically appealing, and thoroughly disinfected.

Your Responsibilities

  • Routinely walk all floors, including the roof, to inspect for potential problems and identify lights that are out, reporting findings to supervisors.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety precautions while performing work tasks.
  • Maintain a positive and effective working relationship with all building staff members.
  • Execute painting of all common areas and perform touch-ups as required. This includes inspecting areas that need paint and advising the manager accordingly.
  • Complete daily work orders efficiently and on schedule.
  • Maintain assigned equipment in good working condition, ensuring its longevity and reliability.
  • Properly perform casual labor, such as lifting and moving heavy items (up to 50 lbs) as directed by supervisors, always following appropriate safety procedures.
  • Perform minor maintenance, replacement, and repairs in various areas including carpentry, electrical work, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical systems, painting, flooring, and other general building repairs through daily scheduled work orders.
  • Follow all established safety procedures and actively contribute to maintaining a safe work environment for everyone.
  • Undertake maintenance, replacement, and repair tasks in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, mechanical, painting, flooring, and other minor building repairs, provided a permit is not required to conduct the job.
  • Must be able to properly utilize new equipment and follow all safety procedures prior to using any new machinery or tools.

Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
  • (2) years of general experience in building trades, repair and replacement maintenance, or handy work.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Multiple language fluency is desirable.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs following appropriate safety procedures.
  • Ability to work in an upright standing position for long periods of time; be able to reach overhead; have full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
  • Be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to climb stairs and navigate the property/building quickly and easily as required to meet job functions.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights above ground level (maximum 14 ft on A-frames and 21 ft on extension ladders).
  • Ability to work in different environmental working conditions (e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain, humidity).
  • Ability to repeat various motions with the wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Be able to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment up to 50 lbs occasionally to complete assigned job tasks.
  • Ability to communicate, receive, and exchange ideas and information by means of the spoken and written word.
  • Maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.
