Maintenance Director | Apple Rehab

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Apple Rehab’s Orchard Grove facility, located in a quiet country residential community. Apple Rehab is a family-owned and operated company with local leadership focused on providing superior care. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety, efficiency, and well-being of a 130-bed facility specializing in Short Term Rehab, Long Term Care, and a dedicated secured unit, allowing you to utilize your talents to make a tangible difference in patients’ lives.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: Full-time, 40 hour Position
• Location: In-person, Orchard Grove, quiet country residential community

• Team: Supervises a Maintenance Assistant and coordinates outside vendors. Attends department head meetings.
• Mission: Ensures the safe, efficient, and effective operations of all building systems, and oversees the comprehensive maintenance and repair of the facility’s physical plant, equipment, and grounds.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Oversee Operations: Ensure the safe, efficient, and effective operations of all building systems.
• Supervise Staff & Vendors: Supervise the Maintenance Assistant and coordinate outside vendors to maintain the health and safety of residents, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain Compliance: Ensure compliance with facility policies regarding cleanliness, infection control, safety, security, hazardous communication, and fire/disaster plans.
• Manage Documentation: Maintain documentation for routine and preventive maintenance, fire alarm/sprinkler testing, and generator testing, adhering to all local, state, and federal laws.
• Facility & Grounds Upkeep: Lead the overall maintenance and repair of the facility’s physical plant, equipment, grounds, and its various systems including plumbing, electrical, and structural.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Director-level leadership with core domain knowledge in facility maintenance. Demonstrated ability to read, write, and follow oral instructions in English, and understand safety instructions and policies.
• Experience: Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Skills: Proficient in routine plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and grounds keeping tasks, including painting, wallpapering, and snow shoveling. Capable of lifting and moving items weighing approximately 50-75 pounds.
• Bonus: Prior experience within a long-term care facility. Previous experience supervising others.
