Job Description: Machine Learning Internship
This is a full-time, on-site internship in either Boston, MA, or Pittsburgh, PA. The intern will work alongside the team responsible for developing key machine learning technologies for autonomous vehicles, including projects like nuScenes, PointPillars, Point Painting, MotionTrack End-to-End Tracking, PBP Trajectory Prediction, and DriveIRL.
Key Responsibilities:
• Research and develop innovative machine learning strategies for challenging problems in autonomous driving.
• Collaborate with various teams across Motional, gaining exposure to multiple engineering disciplines and projects.
• Execute assigned tasks, meet deadlines, and independently explore new ideas.
• Contribute to the delivery of ML technologies that adhere to Motional’s high standards of quality, scientific rigor, and innovation.
Required Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a Masters or PhD program in Computer Science, Robotics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a similar technical field.
• Demonstrated research and development interest through academic projects or publications in top-tier conferences (RSS, ICRA, CoRL, CVPR, ICRL, ICML, NeurIPS, etc.).
• Relevant work experience (internships, full-time industry experience, or research) in computer vision, content recommendation, non-linear optimization, reinforcement learning, deep learning, or robotics.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Excellent Python coding skills and experience with PyTorch or other deep learning frameworks.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range is estimated at $35,000 – $55,000 USD annually (base salary only; bonuses and equity may be included). Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401k with company match, health savings accounts, life insurance, and pet insurance. Eligibility for benefits varies depending on the position.
