The Tone:

This role is central to the company’s efforts in advancing physical sensing systems embedded within the innovative Spotter platform and its broader sensing ecosystem. You will gain a unique opportunity to collaborate with experienced engineers and scientists, directly contributing to cutting-edge Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence projects. • Mission: Advance physical sensing systems within the Spotter platform and its broader sensing ecosystem by applying Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prototyping: Implement and refine prototype models and features, working closely under the expert guidance of senior engineers and scientists throughout the project lifecycle.
• Analysis & Communication: Conduct thorough analyses, distill complex insights from your findings, and present them clearly and effectively through digital communications to a diverse audience.
• Data Stewardship: Maintain exceptionally clean and well-organized data and metadata, ensuring its accuracy, integrity, and accessibility for ongoing and future projects.
• Edge Intelligence: Develop, train, and rigorously test cutting-edge Edge Intelligence models, contributing to the advancement of physical sensing systems.
• Research & Development: Engage in advanced simulations and modeling, exploring groundbreaking research projects that push the boundaries of current capabilities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Successfully completed graduate-level coursework in key areas such as Computer Science, Data Science, and/or AI/ML fields.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to autonomously lead and successfully complete projects, encompassing development, rigorous testing, and iterative refinement, coupled with a strong self-starting mindset, showing initiative and proactive engagement.
• Skills: Proficiency in Machine Learning model development, data analysis, and advanced simulation and modeling techniques.
• Bonus: Prior experience in sensing technologies and robotics; previous professional experience or internships in related fields; or a genuine passion for or a strong connection to the Oceans.
