Job Title: Logistics Intern (Summer 2025)
Program Overview:
The Marzetti Company Summer Internship Program is a 12-week, hands-on opportunity designed for ambitious students ready to launch their careers. This program aims to expand career possibilities post-graduation by providing unique experiences in a student’s field of interest, alongside valuable insight into other key areas of the business. Marzetti is specifically seeking an Intern to join their Logistics Team for the summer of 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
The intern will primarily focus on supporting Operational Excellence and Lean Six Sigma initiatives within the logistics function:
• Creating a Lean Culture: Support Lean Six Sigma site assessment opportunities to identify areas for improvement.
• Value Stream Mapping: Assist in creating value stream and process maps for key logistics processes to enhance standardization and distinguish between value-add and non-value-added activities.
• Gemba Walks: Participate in Gemba walks with site leadership to directly observe processes, identify inefficiencies, and spot waste.
• Kaizen Event Support: Lead Kaizen projects, utilizing the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) problem-solving structure to drive continuous improvement.
• Standard Work Documentation: Help document and standardize work procedures for critical processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• 5S Audits: Develop, conduct, or assist with 5S audits in various work areas to promote organization, cleanliness, and safety.
• Metrics: Create dashboards or visual management boards to effectively track and display performance indicators.
• Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS): Participate in or support RCPS efforts using the A3 problem-solving template to address underlying issues.

Qualifications:
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
• Education: Currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate accredited University with a focus in:
• Supply Chain Management

• Experience & Skills:
• Demonstrated teamwork and leadership abilities through extracurricular activities and/or prior work experience.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and apply logical thinking when creating solutions.
• Displays strong curiosity and initiative.
• Maintains a professional, positive attitude with team members.
• Capable of working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office® applications, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or Excel pivot tables).
• A foundational understanding of supply chain, logistics, or warehouse operations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset (Lean Six Sigma exposure and/or certifications are preferred).
