The Tone:

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Analysis: Respond to data requests from teams to provide operational insight, improving organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Model Building: Construct data models with functional owners to project cost implications, optimize inventory balances, and demonstrate efficiency gains from process improvements.
• Reporting & Insights: Develop reports alongside leaders to highlight financial and inventory impacts from changes in operating models or management decisions.
• AI Foundation Development: Work with datasets to help establish data foundations, enabling AI capabilities for the Materials & Logistics organization.
• Process Automation: Assist in mapping team processes and system interactions to recommend, and in some instances create, automation for greater working efficiency.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student with strong academic standing at an accredited undergraduate institution, working towards a bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Data Science. Must have completed 30 credit hours of coursework.
• Experience: Commitment to a 3-rotation co-op program with Delta Air Lines (e.g., Fall`26 / Summer `27 / Spring`28). Prior experience handling inventory in environments such as retail, warehousing, grocery, or restaurants is a plus.
• Skills: Effective time management and organization; ability to take direction and operate autonomously; clear communication for articulating information and project deliverables; positive energy and initiative; comfort adapting to a rapidly evolving business environment; proficiency with Microsoft programs including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong mathematical and technological skills.
• Bonus: Demonstrated interest in working for Delta Air Lines; understanding of supply chain and inventory management concepts; extracurricular involvement in relevant social or scholastic clubs; a desire for continuous learning; experience presenting outcomes to groups; familiarity with tools and coding languages such as Python, SQL, R, AWS, SAS, Tableau, Power BI, Visual Studio, GitLab, or GitHub; knowledge and usage of AI tools like ChatGPT or Gemini, including prompt structuring.
