Entry Level Logistics Control Clerk | Serco

The Tone:
This is a full-time, on-site role at Serco, located in San Diego, CA. Serco is the Americas division of Serco Group, plc, with over 9,000 employees across North America dedicated to making an impact in Defense, Citizen Services, and Transportation for various US and Canadian government and commercial clients. This position provides essential integration, acquisition, and technical support for US Military and other US contracts by ensuring the precise handling and delivery of mission-critical items. The role is fundamental to maintaining operational efficiency and supporting vital services.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Inventory Management: Manage the full lifecycle of project inventory, including receiving, unpacking, counting, separating, inspecting, and storing items using Costpoint and Rfgen systems.
• Warehouse Operations: Perform material handling, inventory control, and inventory cycle counts, as well as execute inventory and warehouse location transfers for internal and external customers.
• Shipment Preparation: Prepare items for shipment, including prepping, crating, and palletizing, and safely operate forklifts for movement of materials.
• Transportation & Delivery: Safely drive company vehicles for product delivery, including loading, unloading, and ensuring on-time delivery while tracking and verifying all customer shipments.
• Equipment Inspection: Conduct daily inspections of vehicles and forklift equipment, checking lights, brakes, mirrors, steering, forks, mast, and other required operative components.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School diploma/GED, with foundational knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within warehouse and transportation fields, including Hazmat.
• Experience: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, be able to lift 50lbs, and be willing to work overtime if needed, potentially including some Saturdays (around two times a year).
• Skills: High level of attention to detail, ability to learn and follow instructions, collaborative teamwork, adherence to all safety requirements, and effective communication via email using Microsoft Office suite.
• Bonus: One or more years of experience working in a warehouse environment, Forklift Certification, familiarity with Microsoft Office, familiarity with CA OSHA, and Costpoint experience.
