Job Description, Detailed

Job Title: Live Launch Operations Intern

The Live Launch Operations Intern will play a crucial role in supporting Netflix’s expanding live programming initiatives. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience in the intricate process of delivering live events to millions of viewers globally.

Key Responsibilities (May Include):

Pre-Event Support: Assist with critical pre-event activities, including comprehensive testing, rehearsals, and continuous monitoring of live video delivery systems to ensure readiness.
Platform Preparation: Help in preparing and configuring various devices and monitoring platforms essential for successful live event broadcasts.
Communication Coordination: Support the Live Command Center team in facilitating effective communication and coordination across multiple internal teams and external partners throughout live shows.
Incident Response: Participate in incident response and troubleshooting efforts, working under the direct guidance of experienced team members to address and resolve live broadcast issues.
Documentation & Learning: Assist in compiling detailed operations summaries and documenting post-event learnings to contribute to continuous improvement processes.

Who Netflix Is Looking For (Qualifications):

Academic Status: Must be graduating in December 2026 or Spring/Summer 2027.
Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
Preferred Majors: Broadcast Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Media Technology, Information Systems, or other related technical fields, particularly those with an emphasis on real-time systems or media delivery.
Relevant Experience:
• Prior experience in a live environment, such as a school television station, live broadcasting, or streaming roles.
• Hands-on experience with live event production, streaming platforms, or network operations.
Technical Understanding:
• Demonstrated understanding of end-to-end live streaming technologies.
• Familiarity with streaming or broadcast technology, including signal transport, encoding, and media delivery.
• Strong knowledge of CDNs (Content Delivery Networks), ISPs (Internet Service Providers), and network engineering is a significant advantage.
• Knowledge of studio hardware, such as multi-view video monitoring, communications panels, multi-channel audio monitoring, or IPTV transport.
Process Interest: Experience or keen interest in incident response management and continuous improvement methodologies.

Compensation: Netflix carefully considers a wide range of factors to determine top-of-market compensation for internships. The overall market range for Netflix Internships is typically $25/hour – $110/hour, based on total compensation.
