Paralegal | Cyperus Group LLC

The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role at Cyperus Group LLC, located in Los Angeles or San Francisco, requiring 2-3 days a week in the office. Cyperus Group LLC is a global Dispute Resolution practice, an approximately 25-person organization, dedicated to handling complex domestic and cross‑border litigation for a diverse client base, including high‑net‑worth individuals, families, corporations, and government entities. This Paralegal position is critical for providing essential support to attorneys across all phases of litigation, ensuring the meticulous accuracy of court filings, efficient document management, and seamless coordination of case logistics across all firm matters. The individual in this role directly contributes to the successful resolution of intricate disputes and the firm’s reputation for excellence.

• Mission: This role ensures attorneys are fully supported with meticulously prepared documents, accurate filings, and well-managed case logistics across diverse commercial disputes, fraud matters, asset recovery, arbitration, tax controversy, employment, family law, trusts, and regulatory investigations, thereby enabling the efficient and successful progression of complex legal matters.
• Tech Stack: Westlaw, firm platforms, firm systems, eDiscovery platforms

What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Management: Manage large-scale document productions, including intake, processing, chain of custody, and privilege logs, while maintaining organized electronic and hard-copy case files across firm platforms.
• Court Document Preparation: Assist attorneys in drafting and preparing various court-ready documents, such as statements and declarations, and meticulously prepare briefs and filings by proofreading, cite checking, compiling exhibits, formatting to local rules, and executing timely filing and service in state and federal courts.
• Legal Research & Calendaring: Conduct factual and legal research, including pulling cases from Westlaw, and accurately track litigation deadlines while maintaining case calendars using firm systems.
• Litigation Logistics: Support depositions, hearings, conferences, and trial preparation by compiling necessary materials and managing all logistics, including exhibit management and courtroom document organization for trials, mediations, and arbitrations.
• eDiscovery & Field Support: Provide comprehensive support across eDiscovery platforms as needed, and occasionally travel to courthouses or agencies to file, retrieve, or deliver critical documents.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Career level: Early-Mid Career. Core domain knowledge in litigation support, complex document management, court procedures, and legal research within a dispute resolution practice.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience in managing large volumes of documents, preparing court filings, coordinating case logistics, conducting meticulous cite checking, thorough proofreading, and accurate deadline tracking.
• Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the proven ability to manage multiple matters effectively while meeting demanding deadlines.
