Litigation Paralegal | Plona Partners

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Plona Partners, located in Miami. Plona Partners is a regionally ranked legal firm dedicated to providing excellent service to its clients. This role is crucial for providing comprehensive organizational and practice-specific support to attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, ensuring efficient case management from inception through post-trial proceedings.

• Mission: This role owns the comprehensive organizational and practice-specific support for attorneys across all phases of litigation.
• Tech Stack: Westlaw, Lexis, CM/ECF, Florida Court’s e-Filing Portal

What You’ll Actually Do
• Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal and factual research using specialized tools like Westlaw and Lexis.
• Discovery Management: Oversee and manage all phases of discovery processes, including the handling of Electronically Stored Information (ESI).
• Document Drafting: Draft a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and notices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards.
• Trial Preparation: Prepare comprehensive trial materials such as trial notebooks, exhibits, and witness schedules, and provide support for post-trial filings and appeals.
• Filing & Coordination: Coordinate and conduct document reviews and productions, assemble and file motion papers, and manage court filings efficiently.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Professional with a college degree and/or paralegal certificate.
• Experience: At least 5 years of dedicated litigation paralegal experience within a law firm setting.
• Skills:
• Strong organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, Lexis) and e-filing systems (CM/ECF, Florida Court’s e-Filing Portal).
• Bonus: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and/or experience with bankruptcy and bankruptcy litigation.
