Litigation Paralegal | LHH
The Tone:
This is a direct hire position for a Litigation Paralegal, located in Charleston, South Carolina. LHH is partnering with a respected law firm to find a key member for its collaborative and growing team. This role is crucial for providing comprehensive litigation support, managing client communications, and coordinating essential office operations within a professional environment. The Paralegal’s contributions directly support the firm’s legal professionals and ensure efficient case progression and administrative effectiveness.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Drafting & Review: Draft and meticulously proofread routine legal documents, including pleadings, affidavits, orders, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness before submission.
• Case Filing & Tracking: Prepare and electronically file legal documents in both South Carolina state and federal courts, while also maintaining litigation calendars to monitor all critical deadlines, hearings, and case milestones.
• Discovery & Information Management: Coordinate the thorough collection, precise organization, and detailed analysis of necessary documents, records, and various forms of evidence to effectively support all discovery efforts for ongoing cases.
• Client & Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular and timely case updates to clients and supervising attorneys, and professionally communicate with court personnel, local counsel, and opposing parties to facilitate case progression.
• Office Administration & Attorney Support: Serve as the primary administrative contact for the Charleston office, coordinating daily operations and vendor relationships in partnership with firm leadership, while also assisting attorneys with case management decisions and recommendations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career; candidates should possess an Associate’s degree or Paralegal Certificate (preferred); demonstrated basic understanding of litigation procedures, civil litigation workflows, or real estate mortgage matters.
• Experience: Requires 1-3 years of relevant experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, coupled with intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills for managing multiple assignments and competing deadlines; excellent verbal and written communication abilities; robust analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Bonus: Preference for candidates holding an Associate’s degree or Paralegal Certificate and those with prior experience utilizing electronic filing systems and navigating court procedures.
