Litigation Paralegal | Parker Law, LLC

The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person Litigation Paralegal role at Parker Law, LLC, with work performed at our Columbia and/or Chapin, SC offices. Parker Law, LLC is a growing law firm dedicated to providing excellent legal services in South Carolina. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to gain meaningful, hands-on involvement in civil litigation matters. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation, ensuring efficient case progression and client satisfaction.

• Mission: This role is responsible for the comprehensive administrative and logistical support of civil litigation cases, from initial pleadings through trial preparation, ensuring attorneys are effectively supported at every stage.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), legal software / case management systems (preferred)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Drafting: Draft essential legal documents including pleadings, motions, and a variety of correspondence to facilitate communication and case progression.
• Case Logistics Management: Oversee and manage comprehensive case files and litigation calendars, meticulously tracking deadlines, hearings, and required filings to maintain case momentum.
• Discovery Process Assistance: Provide crucial assistance with all aspects of discovery, encompassing the preparation and response to interrogatories, requests for production, and subpoenas.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a key point of contact, communicating effectively with clients, courts, and opposing counsel, and adeptly scheduling depositions, mediations, and hearings.
• Trial Preparation & Organization: Prepare all necessary trial materials, exhibits, and binders, ensuring highly organized and accurate case documentation ready for court proceedings.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role requires a professional with 2 or more years of dedicated litigation paralegal experience, with a strong preference for civil litigation background and familiarity with the South Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure.
• Experience: Candidates must possess demonstrated experience in case management, the full discovery process, and comprehensive trial preparation, showcasing a hands-on approach to litigation support.
• Skills: Essential skills include strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel), exceptional organization, clear communication, and effective time management, alongside the ability to adeptly handle multiple deadlines within a fast-paced legal environment.
• Bonus: Experience utilizing various legal software or case management systems to streamline workflow and document management is strongly preferred.
