The Tone:
This is a full-time role for an experienced Litigation Paralegal at Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, LLP, located in its Livingston, NJ office. The firm is a large, national law firm with a presence in all 50 States, representing a significant legal organization. This position is vital for providing comprehensive support to attorneys throughout the entire litigation lifecycle, from initial discovery and research to critical trial preparations. The Paralegal will play a key role in maintaining efficient case management, ensuring accurate document handling, and facilitating professional communication, directly contributing to the firm’s successful legal outcomes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Legal Support: Provide essential assistance to attorneys by drafting various pleadings, performing thorough factual and legal research, meticulously reviewing and analyzing relevant documents, and offering comprehensive support for preparations leading up to hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Discovery Management: Systematically review, gather, and organize all client documents, managing the process from initial production through to discovery. This also includes actively assisting attorneys in preparing discovery requests and formulating precise responses.
• Trial Preparation: Take a proactive role in preparing for trial, which encompasses drafting crucial pre-trial pleadings, carefully preparing exhibits, coordinating with witnesses, managing requests with outside vendors, and providing direct, live trial support during proceedings.
• Information Organization: Research, meticulously organize, and summarize various records and documents as needed to assist in efficient data gathering. This also involves the systematic organization of information and documents within specialized databases.
• Professional Communication: Maintain consistent, professional, productive, and efficient communication with a diverse group of stakeholders, including clients, external contacts, internal attorneys, other paralegals, and all other professional staff within the firm.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Litigation-focused paralegal with at least 3 years of experience in the field. The position is explicitly open to all experience levels.
• Experience: Proven experience in litigation support and case management, including drafting and organizing both written discovery and document production. Demonstrated ability in preparing for and actively assisting at trial. Familiarity with the State and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure for New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania is required. Practical experience with Summation Pro, Relativity, or comparable litigation support software is also necessary.
• Skills: Possess excellent analytical, written communication, organizational, and technical skills, along with strong attention to detail. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to adapt to changes, manage multiple cases efficiently, and work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Bonus: Prior experience in a large law firm setting is preferred.
