What You’ll Actually Do
• Legal Document Management: Prepare, draft, and accurately e-file various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, legal memoranda, and appellate documents, across both state and federal court systems.
• Discovery & Factual Investigation: Conduct legal research and factual investigation, prepare comprehensive discovery documents, interrogatories, and responses, and gather relevant information from diverse sources to support case development.
• Communication & Coordination: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, courts, and external counsel, and effectively liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties to ensure smooth information flow.
• Trial and Case Preparation: Coordinate and summarize depositions, draft and serve summons, and meticulously organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
• Direct Attorney Support: Aid attorneys by preparing trial binders and exhibits, assisting with witness preparation, and contributing to case settlements, ensuring comprehensive support throughout the litigation process.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates are required to hold an Associate’s Degree or a certificate, or possess equivalent work experience in a legal setting, demonstrating foundational knowledge for the role.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of proven working experience is essential, specifically as a litigation paralegal or within legal services, directly supporting an attorney or lawyer in a law firm environment.
• Skills: Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication abilities are critical, alongside exceptional attention to detail. The role demands the capacity to multitask, organize, and prioritize effectively, manage workload efficiently in a fast-paced setting, and perform duties with a positive attitude and minimal supervision.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications include the successful completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program. Additionally, experience in specific injury-related practice areas such as Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Premises liability, First Party claims, or Medical Malpractice is highly valued.
